Ah, missed the replica part. There are a bunch of net materials in fabric stores. I used to go into them all the time to get stuff for my mom. When you're a 250lb guy and walk in and say "I was told to get this" and hand them a sample, they just go get it for you, don't even expect you to know what heck you're doing in there.

x2. The fine twist in the thread gives it away..
Really challenging to get through ebay these days (without buying a whole entire car that is clearly old) with all the re-re and guys being a little "liberal" with the descriptions of "vintage"
I borrowed this pic from Ruffy's gallery thread to describe what I'm asking.
What is need to achieve the roll bar and netting look?
What is the best way to trim the body this way?
I have seen some people use what appears to be window screening as...

very cool and hate to hijack, but what's with the fastner on the shock screw instead of a nut? looks like a steering rod do hicky thingy?
It's a box art replica, and fully accurate to the original RC10s (look at the box ;)).
I'm finally taking the plunge and painting the X-Cellerator body on my XX CR Kinwald.
It's nearly all masked up and looking great, but there's one thing I'm scratching about-the window frames.
What's the best way to do these?
I'm going box art and I...

Thanks for the tip.
I like that carbon look.
I am not that worried about perfection but I am going to paint my cosmo body with window frames and we will see how that goes. I will post pics when I do it.
Thanks
This is the only forum I've visited where links open in the same window so you must use the back button to return to RC10talk.
Am I missing that option somewhere in user control?
I much prefer links to open in a new window.
I am in such a habit of...
I did a forum search for tinted windows and surprisingly, no useful results appeared. How do you do a smoke window tint on a lexan body?

This is an update to using Pactra Window Tint and VHT Nightshades.
Pactra Window Tint should be named Window Pips. It's absolutely awful. The following is quoted from what I just wrote in my Project CYANide thread, I didn't want to paraphrase...
Okay, I am not good with an exacto and tape and have tried applying liquid mask but am not confident that will come out great either. I have an rc10 b3 and am very reluctant to try my hand at masking the windows as I know it will come out like crap....

Finally got her painted, The Thunder tiger stickers did come with window masks. I use the masks for the side windows and used the window sticker for the front, for some reason the front window mask was cut funny. A note the front window sticker came...
An other project : body was made with 2 banger bodies from UK + lugage and Tamiya parts
M02 chassis is hop uped with HPI replica chassis plates, alloy wheels and steering coming from go-kart Hobbyking
Hi, can anyone advise the best method for achieving clean looking window frames.
I see many bodies that look really professional with a neat black or coloured boarder to the windows, but I always struggle with this.
Thin tape applied on the outside,...

I haven't tried this technique yet, but I read somewhere a tip where you place 2 X-Acto blades inside the same handle with some cardboard or something to make a space between them, then use that to score lines in your liquid paint mask. It might not...
I suppose this is directed mostly at Mrlexan, I just did not want to derail one of his threads. I'm curious as to what the process is for making decals, and window masks.
I noticed that the masks that shipped with the bolink baja bug are different...

Contact and ask for a sample of their clear laser printable (or printer of choice ) compatible media. I did this for a Barbie Tonka project I did a few years ago and they sent me an 8.5x11 manilla envelope full of sample stuff. I wanted peel and...
