VINTAGE RACE MEETING HELD ON THE 25th APRIL 2010 - AUSTRALIA
Hi guys,
Since the end of last year I had been planning a large race meeting for us Aussies to enjoy a couple of weekends ago. The "Dust and Mud" have settled a bit now - so I thought I might throw up some pics for you to see from the meeting. We got tremendous support from Venom Group International, every single competitor got a transmitter bag, toolset and decals etc, we had a great raffle and a really good time. The weather went bad for race day - but that did not stop us.
Will just put up the pics for now - I will go into a bit more detail over the weekend if people are interested - there are a TONNE of pics - and will be adding more over the weekend!
We had such an awesome time.
Cheers
Darryn
p.s - the first few pics are a bit self indulgent as they are of a few of my cars I ran over the weekend. Also Ran a Mini Mustang.
My JRX2 - complete with a tonne of period hop ups and one of MR LEXANS awesome repro bodies:
My JRX Pro, ran extremely well in open class, sporting one of Brandons repro bodies:
My trust MIP 410 Legend - performed brilliantly once again:
My Schumacher C.A.T XLS, was a bit of a handfull in Open class - better once I took out the front one-way driveshafts!:
My "Crusty" old frog, ran EXTREMELY well in the mud on Sunday, lots of fun to drive:
My family portrait, missing the Mini Mustang:
Now for some action pics from Practice day and some of race day:

Thanks for the comment coaltrain!
Much appreciated.
Obviously there are not enough RC10's in the pics - no one likes the pics enough to ask questions!
Perhaps it is because it is on the other side of the planet and not relevant!
Cheers

Re: VINTAGE RACE MEETING HELD ON THE 25th APRIL 2010 - AUSTR
Darryn,
I was at the JConcepts Super Cup race in Daytona and someone asked me if I had a time machine at my house. Obviously the time machine is down under!!!! I will admit though; as I looked at the pictures I was deeply disturbed. I am about as hardcore as they come when it comes to racing. I'd take a NIB RC10 and build it for racing if I had one. I am a racer and have always thought that the cars were meant to race. However; seeing the mud those things are running in is sickening. I know the countless hours I put into preparing each one of our cars just to run on a blue groove track. I even did a complete teardown and rebuild after Daytona since the surface was a little damp. Just thinking about the work required on each of those cars after that race makes me cringe. You sir are hardcore!!!!!!

Yeah Jeff there are some of us that are plain mad! My Wild One has the 6 spot lights and was well and truly drowned in mud. Ive just finished rebuilding the car tonight after leaving it this past couple of weeks. That was BESTYS Kyosho COSMO in the mud pit too.
It took some convincing but a few of us nutters got out there and pretty much burried our cars in thick sludge....LOL!
It was very very wet early on and there were only a few takers at this point of the day. After the rain moved on and the sun came out many of the other guys put cars onto the track when things began drying out.
It was a lot of fun though.

The orange car with the sticker is owned and driven by my good mate, Tom Clifford. The car is a Kyosho Optima, with a few mods. He runs it in mod with a 10.5 and the thing flies - really cool to hear its chain thrashing and the handling is actually pretty darn good to be honest - I have had a drive.
Mr Harris Yeah - we dont hold back here - there are a few hard core regulars in our group - myself, Jason, Besty (Chris) Dean Kaufman and a few others - run NO MATTER what the conditions. I ran my frog the same time a Jason - unfortunately the mud doesnt stick as well to a space frame chassis - although it sure has shown me that there are places on a frog that I never thought I would see mud or dirt when cleaning!!
We have actually driven when it has been literally raining hardcore before - I will post the link to our farewell to St Ives vintage meeting held last year....that was MUDDY and raining as well!!
Cheers - and thanks for the comments!

I love getting my vintage stuff in the mud and sometimes even in the water!
