Turtle Trax has an onsite hobby shop and they just got a bunch of SCT tires in stock. I hope I can get my cars ready by this weekend, not looking too good right now.

I went ahead and ordered the wheels and tires from A Main. I on't want to wait until I show up to find out they don't have what I need. I put a rush on the order so we will see.

Are you going to the race? I am planning on racing the SC10/13.5 BL

Jake, I'm going to make it to this one. I'll be racing 13.5 sct with a slash if my CRC Losi conversion doesn't show up in time. I'll also be racing 13.5 (not the vintage class) with an undetermined vintage car, either my rc10 or my Traxxas if I can get some wheels and tires for it. Oh yeah and 4X4 SCT with my Jammin'. I've never ran 3 classes before, I think I'm going to be stressed out!


Hopefully the Bonaroo traffic isn't too bad on the way out of town, it's a big 4 day concert and just happens to be on the way out. I don't want to get stuck in traffic with a bunch of hippies

Have either of you guys been to this track before? I need to know if they have house transponders? If you guys are not sure I will call the track tomorrow.

Also I am still running an FM radio and I only have one set of crystals. Do you guys think i will run into any issues with someone else being on the same freq there?

I've never been there, let me know about the transponders I might need to use a house for 1 or 2 cars too. I don't think you'll have a problem running crystals, most people have gone spektrum.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about the crystals. Like Mark said, most have made the switch so it should leave you safe.

About the transponders, the guy said they do not have house transponders.

When you need a hobby shop by the house, there are none to be found. The guys said he may have a loaner I can use. Hell I would buy one, if I could get it here by Friday. I don't have much trust in the USPS though. I am already waiting for tires, LOL

Contact Robert Dirla at Thunder in Nashville. He can get you set up with the AMB copy transponders for much less than the name brand. They are fully compatible and work just as well as the AMB.

The RC10Talk guys had a pretty good day out in Rome GA yesterday at Turtle Trax Raceway's GA State Electric Champs. It was HOT!! like 90 degrees and GA humidity hot! Thanks to the host track for providing free bottled water for all the racers!!

Jake AKA Bigjeepz: Showed us his amazing custom RC10 build, it looks awesome. He was having a pretty good day with his SC10 but burned up a motor and was out for the day, sorry Jake, I hate it when the gremlins bite.

Mark AKA markt311: I was racing my rc10 team car in the regular 13.5 buggy class against all the new cars and they were running new timing boost speed controls. So I didn't really have the straight line speed they had and my buggy driving is pretty rusty, So I ended up qualifying 9th in the B main and finished somewhere near the back of the pack.

In short course truck I was running my new CRC converted Losi XXXT, I had zero time to drive it before the first qualifier. I was also running a 17.5 where most of the fast guys were running high dollar 13.5 setups. Again the straight line speed was a little too slow. I ended up qualifying 4th in the B and finished 2nd after driving a pretty good race.

BrandonG AKA Brandon: Had a great day in the buggy and SCT class. His worlds 91 rc10 that he ran at last year's VONATS qualified in the Amain and he ended up with 3rd place after a great race, he only had to be marshalled once!

SCT was also a very close class, Brandon qualified for the A main and fought hard the whole race. He ran in 3rd place for most of the race, when the leaders started battling for 1st brandon caught up and passed both truck in some of the closest and cleanest driving I've ever seen. the 3 trucks had about 5 inches in between each other and freight trained around like that for 4 or 5 laps. Brandon and his Blitz eventually came home in 2nd place about .1 seconds behind the leader!!


Overall a fun day, but it might take a few days to recover from the heat!

It was good meeting you guys there. It was hot as hell there and there was nothing going on but complianing in my pits (wife).

I tried doing some work on the truck today and trouble shooting my problems. As soon as I turned on the power button on my ESC went up in smoke and flames.

I also beleive the motor is toast as well. That sucker was burning hot after the last qualifier. Damn brushless stuff.... Never had problems like this going brushed.

When the replacements from Novak get here I should have my car ready to go.
