I'd like to know about this, too. I have a REALLY messed up gold pan chassis from ebay that needs to be totally refinished. Here is a link to the duplicolor product page: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/metalcast.html All I really found out was that you need to apply their special Adhesion promoter before applying the paint.

looks pretty neat. It won't be as tough as anodizing, but if you prep the chassis properly, I don't see why it won't work at least as good as a paint job. if you bead blasted the chassis, cleaned it, then put the adhesion promoter on, I bet it would stick pretty well. I dunno how well it would stick to a polished surface, but who knows.....

I did this on an old polished tubgt I had to try and replicate a blue tub that I cannot find new anymore and it looked good enuf but definitely not any stronger than a rattle can paint job. Might be good on a shelfer but I wouldn't waste the time of doing it for a runner. The only thing I did notice though was that it will definitely show where the finish underneath isn't uniform. I didn't have the sides buffed as shiny as the bottom and it was really noticeable.

the paint is brittle/chips easely
paint usually dosent stick too well on any thing that is polished. the surface is polished so smooth to aquire the shine that there is nothing left for the paint to stick too or grab hold of.

I think it was pledge or endust furniture polish that if left on aluminum it etched the surface then could paint it with good adhesion.Don
