Craiglist RC10T ... bringing back to life

I found servo mounts for the RC10T (part #6336). I checked my chassis and didn't see holes for mounting them for the steering servo. Did the 10T come stock with a mechanical speed control and that's what these are for?

I turned the servo to the correct position and I saw the holes! Amazing! I'm sure the mounts are an improvement over just using servo tape.

I searched the forum and found way too many posts for this (a testament to the amount of info that can be found here).

My RC10T has the Stealth tranny. If I purchase the RPM 2.65 conversion, what else (if anything) do I need to use it in my truck? If I stick with the original ratio, what issues will I run into?

The RPM conversion will come with the tranny housing and a new top shaft. You will need to re-use everything from your stealth except those parts. Sounds like you were thinking of a 17T motor, which the stealth (or RPM) can easily handle. The advantage of the 2.65 RPM is that the transmission does more of the gear reduction compared to the 2.25 stealth. Therefore, you could run a larger pinion than you would with a stealth, which can be more efficient, on paper at least.

Your doing a great job on your first build and welcome to the forum!

Your Novak esc is still way better than any modern Dynamite brushed esc! You can even run a brushed 10 turn in your Stealth with no problems, but a nice 17 to 14 turn would be perfect. I was running a 12T in my T2 and it was fun. Back in the day I ran 10 turns in my trucks at times. Run time back then was a problem with a 10 turn.

I'm sorry if I missed this but did it have bearings? If not, you must add bearings!

I'm not sure if the Pro-Line Calibers will fit your bead lock wheels but the Pro-line Edge tires will fit and work well on the front bead locks. I just mounted some Bow ties on my bead locks, if I could fit Calibers, I would!

Bearings, bearing, bearings! So I used the parts catalog and found all the part numbers for the necessary bearings. I checked the AE website and found all the sizes. Next, I went to AvidRC.com and got lost! Can anyone hook me up and spoon feed me how to get bearings for this kit (any other way than buying bearings from Tower). This is a low-budget build!

I noticed that the rear bulkhead pictured in the manual and the rear bulk head I have are two different sizes. The one shown in the manual has many more mounting holes and is much wider. Is the one I have wrong, or is it from a early 10T kit? If it is incorrect, what problems will this cause?

its been trimmed. the outer holes were not used on your truck so it will not hurt anything. racers bitd would cut and trim everything to shave off those heavy grams of weight.

that's actually a "worlds" tower. the 3rd design. your 10t is a mid/late version with the black arms, and that was the bulkhead in production at the time.

i stand corrected. i never knew that they made them like that at any point.

ya, the first one had the long wing tube holes with 9 camber locations on both sides. second was the same thing, except they used a shorter wing tube and added a new ball stud location underneath. the battery box was also notched to allow the rear arm mounts to be moved forward. the 3rd design looks like the one above (came in white and black).
