Best part is that he calmly picks the camera up right after it hits... happens all the time.
When I used to shoot action or cover races for the magazine I had to learn to shoot with my other eye open.. between 1/8 buggies whizzing past your head and your face gets tired of scrunching all day taking pics.

so the next question is who can identify the car? i think its a triumph TR7 i am pretty sure there was a v8 version from this side of the pond

Sometimes I don't think photographers realize the danger they are close to, or even recognize how close they are to the action. I shot this last July, and though I was behind a concrete barrier, the end result of this "off" was that the car rolled to a stop about 10 feet from where I was standing, pointed right at me. I never took my index finger off of the trigger and have the entire sequence of shots of the entire overshoot of T5 at Road America.

After the whole thing happened, I thought, "eh, wasn't THAT close." LOL.

Must have been using a Nikon.
This is why I like shooting weddings...although I was almost run over by a drunken fat girl at a reception once.
