Bringin' home the hardware

Post by scr8p »

i was up at my parents house the other day, and stumbled across a box of my old racing trophies. they're all from 92/93/94. the 5 are from season long points series, the others are from 1-2 day races. most of the tracks i raced at after 94 went to a cash payout at the end of the points series, therefore, no more trophies. but getting some money back at the end of the year was nice.

i still have a plaque or two on my old bedroom wall at my parents house. but my mom said i can't take them down until she feels like painting the room in case they pull the paint off. it could happen, since i put them up with 2 side tape.

Last year I finally broke down and donated 4 boxes of BMX trophies to a local trophy shop. I just couldn't see them getting thrown away.

Here's mine from 1985-1987 before I donated them back to the track for re-use: Image

The new ones (plaques and some trophies) are scattered throughout the house in use by my kids. The trophies work great as tightrope bases for Lego or Star Wars figures and the plaques apparently make great Matchbox ramps.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.
