Post by mat69 »

Hi all, my names Mat and I'm from the UK.

Found your forum a week or so ago...very cool, had to join!

I've noticed a good few names here from the crawler forums and Tamiya club.

I've managed to get through all of Reader Rides and the General Forum with in a week and swiftly went on ebay and bought 3 RC10's and an A&L chassis.....my wifes going ape with me...lol....you guys have got some seriously nice rides!!

They're all winging there way from the USA as we speak...can't wait!

cheers
Mat

Really looking forward to your chassis coming Daryl...it's making it's way over from Australia...it's an unfinished project.

Will post lots of pics guys.

is it the one with aluminium wheels? If yes, you might have to find missing parts for it, I saw it too last week or so...

Yeah, that's the one Asso_man. I did email the seller and ask about missing parts before hand and he said it was all there just not pictured.

I'll hopefully find out soon when it arrives eh!!

Matt, the voices in your head are saying "...forget the A&L. They are junk. Send it to the states in care of Tadracket. Do so as soon as possible or we will make you kill your cat".

Just kidding of course. The A&L is a beautiful piece of work. Can't wait to finish mine so it can set of my shelf and look pretty.

I am looking for rear shocks, tranny halves and a kick-up. I have 3 cars coming and one of them looks like it has a perfect nose plate and unmarked shocks. Don't know what the tranny halves look like.

I am debating the Protech or Protech 2 body. That's about it. I have yet to post any pictures on this board. I like to post completed projects, I guess I am going to have to get over that and put up some pics. I have several cars in the making but just not quite there yet.

First I have to get my internet back :(

I'm now a proud RC10 virgin!! :D

A few of my ebay wins are finally coming through...

RC10 No1 is in pretty bad condition, alot of the white plastic parts have fracture lines/crazing through them...looks like it's been left in the sun for a very long time!!

All the shock clamps have crazing and look like they'll disintegrate if I remove them.

Both rear hub carriers are split or broke at the ball joint

Only 1 bearing on the outside of the rear hubs

Front wheels outsides are completely shot!

That's all I've found so far....just started to strip and clean.

RC10 No2 A little better than No1.
Just from looking some front steering parts missing and also the front nose tubes.

This lot should keep me busy for a few nights
