What to look for in buying use RC10's

Post by DonDDR »

Besides aftermarket parts, which I know nothing about anyway, are there things to look for in the basics of the buggie/truck itself? There seem to be lots of $50 or $75 units for sale and, even cheap like that, dont want to end up with garbage.

Thanks.

I always look for how it was set up. You can tell if someones been racing it or just bashing the hell out of it. I also check the diff and see how it feels. Look and the shocks and see if they leak. Is the chassis straight or is it bent? I don't sweat over much else. Most parts can be found on ebay.

What am I looking for when I check out the diff? Like when I turn it, it will feel rough life gravel?

Is it necessary to check the chassis with a straight edge or do they just bend and like the rf wheel would be 1/8 inch off the ground?
