the shims are there to take up slack, and possibly fine tune the placement of the bone in the drive cup.

use as many as it takes to fit it properly, and stick the leftovers in your stash of spare parts. no big deal.

I have a set of RC10T MIP CVD's NIP can i just get the 3/16 MIP T4 axles to use instead of the 1/4 10T ones?

Do you also need to replace hubs to do this conversion?
