AYK Pro Radiant - Mike Dunn scheme.
Im not sure why but Mike Dunn's Pro Radiant has always sparked my interest. While the box art Boost paint sceme is also very cool I wanted a Pro Radiant that resembled the car that Mike ran here in Australia back in the 89 worlds.
I have watched the footage over and over from that event and tracked down what images I could to use as a resource for his famous design. I now own 2 of these cars and its neat having both a Boost and a Pro Radiant.
Im not sure what I will do with this one (drive or shelf) but I have some vintage Novak gear that will go into this car along with some brand new matched 1700 sce cells. Only time will tell
She's not finished but here are a couple of teaser pics of the paint scheme. I will also add that the lexan shell, gear cover etc.. are quality Mr Lexan repro's of which I would highly recommend to anyone.

Jason, the paint turned out very nice. I can remember seeing the PR in the Race Prep ads and thinking how cool of a car it was. I dreamed of owning the same car in the ad with one of the Dunn brothers holding the photoshopped motor. I recently saw the ad in one of your posts IIRC.
Great job on this car, you never dissappoint.

Re: AYK Pro Radiant - Mike Dunn scheme.
Thank you Jake and Gary. To be honest I just did my best to try and recreate what was done many years ago. It might be interesting to know it was all done with Tamiya rattle cans and some clever masking. I dont even own an air brush you know- LOL!
The design certainly is eye catching and was no doubt done to keep track of when motoring around at top speed amongst the world's top 10 drivers back then. Personaly I reckon the colour scheme would be hard to miss.

Re: AYK Pro Radiant - Mike Dunn scheme.
.....and a sneek peek at my Jrx pro shell also. This is obviously not finished (still got the white to go) but I even went as far as removing the overspray film at the front so I could apply the Race Prep decal. This was done so I could (ever so patiently) mask the back side of the decal so I could back it with white. Yep, I applied some Tamiya masking tape to the inside and very very patiently trimmed to the red out line of the decal. Now when the white goes on that orange 'Race Prep' decal will be really vibrant!

Just another update. Have finished the white on the JRX Pro and thought I'd snap a few more pics.
