Just a though, If i treated the numbers like a brushless, the 25k rpm over what is likely 7.2 V puts the motor a little over 3500KV rating which is about 11 turns. I'm trying to find out if the motor is or isnt 11 turns b/c i'd really prefer reverse...
i picked up a novak t-1 esc and a novak ner-2s receiver on ebay yesterday. they're both new in package. for the two of them, it was just over $45. i don't think the price was too bad. what do ya think?

I had no problems swapping my NES1A from JR to G, it's fiddly, but with a good iron, steady hand, good light and magnification not a big deal.
