Futaba Manum Jr inherit newer ESC?

I got a n oldFutaba Magnum Jr. Radio I picked up with my RC10 "A" #6010.

If I upgrade my Traxxas Stampede, can I pass the Traxxas XL-5 ESC to the RC10 and still use the Futaba radio? The Futaba radio/servo is in good shape

I had wanted to pickup a used VXL brushess ESC/motor or similar combo for the Stampede. the AM Traxxas radio from the Stampede is in good shape too.

I do have a 2.4 GHZ radio for the XXXT. I haven't done more than power the radio up since I got that combo.
