Thanks guys for your thoughts. My wife and I appreciate it very much, even over the net/forum. Yesterday was an extremely hard day for us of which time will only heel. I think I've experienced every emotion known to man in the past 24 hours. It's still hard to think and talk about it. I miss him SOOOO much but am thankful for the 10 years (or 70 dog years he gave us) .

Damn Jay, I just read this thread, it's a real tear jerker for sure. my pup is still pretty young but once in a while I have a what if though and it's enough to choke me up. My mom's dog, Scout has been around for 12 years now and she is getting slowish, that's going to be a very hard one when that day comes.

Sad news. My golden is 12 and I know I'm very lucky to have him this long. He is the most loyal dog I've ever had and I can't bear the thought to replace him. You and your wife are in my thoughts for sure...

I think Bailey misses his big brother as much as we do. I know dogs are smart to a degree, but we are not sure that he really understands what's going on. We can see a change in him, he seems to be a bit depressed. He's never known what it's like to be alone. He's the young one and always had a big pal around from day one.
