Help with an ebay user

Post by Erich Reichert »

Does anyone know a user named yellowpokeadot? I bought some rc10 stuff from them and thought maybe they might be a memeber here. I could really use any info anyone has.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280142975356&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting

I won this and he emails me the next day demanding that I pay in the next two hours. I pay him, and three weeks later have nothing. So I email him explaining the situation and how he handled it and I get a reply from his wife with a story about how the "kids tore the sticker off the chassis and now its destroyed so he threw it away". I email back saying I want the other parts and that its unlikely since there WAS NO sticker and besides that, the chassis is more then one part. She emails back saying that "he prob sold it to a buddy". Now granted she offered me a refund from the begining and that he has anohter non graphite car that she could send me but I think we can all appreciate why I wanted the items instead. Just thought i'd put it out there that I feel this was dirty pool and everyone else should be forewarned. We'll see where this one ends, if anything changes of COURSE I will post that and edit this one, but I doubt any of that's going to happen.

Am I just making a bigger deal of this then its worth? Oh well guess I can add this one to the "the one that got away" thread. LOL.

i have a feeling that when she said that the kids tore the sticker off of the chassis, it meant that the chassis itself had a vinyl "carbon fiber looking" decal on it. maybe to make a beat up used chassis look like new, and pass it off as such? :?

hey, i could be wrong. but that's how i'm taking it.

Ya I thought maybe she meant like a scratch guard but then I looked and there was nothing on it. Hey does anyone know what those wheels were? I know the car was a (looked to be) hot trick graphite car. Just wondering what you all thought it the auction would've been worth to me. We've all seen that bumper go for some good money lately.

That aint cool, I hope you get your money back. Did you ever find out why the guy isn't answering the emails?? Don't wait too long, you might be aable to make a claim and get you money back that way.

The "wife" says she talked to him on the phone a little bit ago so maybe he's not home. Anyway, ya if she doesn't just refund my money I'll do the paypal thing, I'm still in good shape since its only been three weeks. I think they give you 45 days and I have my iCal set to remind me the day before just in case.

i think the wheels are made by duratrax.

i don't know, dude. it still looks like a stock ae graphite chassis with a carbon fiber vinyl decal on it. it's definately not a hot trick chassis.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure those are duratrax wheels too. I think it may be a vinyl graphic also. Hope you are able to work it out.

Carbon decal for sure with Duratrax wheels.... there are no countersinks on the bottom. Those shock towers look like fiberglass with decals on them, too. "Laminate" is kinda funny, actually.

Lame auction, though. That's squirrelly, at best.

Get your cash back ASAP and add "yellowpokeadot" to the blacklist.

sound like the plan! I saw the larger weave and thought it was hot trick but from the sounds of it I'd be filing a claim even if I got it. Thanks guys.

Hot Trick's weave is almost a 0.25 inch square and has no kick up..... 100% certain on this as I have one.

The towers look like Fiberlyte...is the chassis also?

I looked at the seller's history...kind of scary if it's a guy.

More likely it's the wifey's account... :?

Towers look like natural fiberglass in the middles. Faux carbon, at best. No carbon that I know of has white centers...

This car looks like an incomplete stock Graphite RC10 with some vinyl carbon decal material liberally used.
