Black parts to White?
Klavy69, Dave00beer and myself were discussing this tonight on my blue eagle LS thread. Any other input or success stories would be great!
I just got a black cover for my LS like the one in the picture. Is there any way possible to make it white like the other pic I have provided?
Perhaps a special paint for plastics?
Maybe a dye I do not know about that turns it white?
A Powerful bleach???? I know this sounds weird but who knows it could work!
Any ideas would be great. thanks guys.

Re: Black parts to White?
maybe STRONG peroxide (not CVS brand stuff) with a extremely strong UV bulb for a few weeks? like a sodium phosphorus bulb... if u ever walked in front of a crappy deli and seen all the faded gum and packaging in front, i guess UV can fade anything over time..
i have looked, there is no such thing as white dye. there is plenty of plastic paint, but this is part is nylon? which really isnt the same as plastic, and adhesion would be different with nylon, cant help much there.

Krylon Fusion paint. Will adhere just fine to nylon, delrin, abs, pvc, etc.
You'll never "bleach" the color out. The colorant was added to the polymer either during bead synthesis or during injection molding. Either way, the best you'd ever get to is mottled gray.

I would buy one but they are very hard to find. I think they were only produced for the Blue Eagle LS and LS-2.

Painting the gear cover is easy. I've painted all different types of plastics with good success. Even painted a set of plastics for a friend's 400EX years ago and it still looks great.
Problem is, I highly doubt you're gonna find any finish that closely resembles the original white nylon look.

I think your right it would be very hard to resemble the white nylon look. I put the gear cover on today and it does not look that bad. Might just have to wait until a white one pops up on ebay.

They were also used on the Hawk2. That's the one I would keep an eye out for on ebay. Seems to be more of those than LS and LS-II's combined.
May also be able to find one on a Rad 2 parts car, but I still think the Hawk2 is your best chance.
