My Shumacher Virginity Has Been Deflowered

Post by FasterLouder »

After all this time,I'd never owned a Schumacher.
I rescued this CAT 2000 off a local online auction, stripped it down, cleaned it and did what I could to make it better.
It's missing a few parts-Belt Tensioner and front one way gear ,but thanks to Manchester Mick,he's sorted me out with those and Ian has kindly sorted me out with a front belt.
Thanks,guys! :D

Apart from that, mechanically it's in real nice shape.

I had a nifty UK made Demon Racing 18x4 motor that was perfect for this car,so in it went.
Can someone clue me in to when these were made and if they're actually worth anything?
Old RC cars just follow me home...

Thanks

Here it is,before the cleanup, and after...

A waste of a cool,but trippy,body.

I ordered up a new body and wing, anyhoo.

Anyone got a front belt for one of these suckers?

Altough you probably have problems in determining the direction the car is heading because of the paint pattern. :) The pattern makes me think the "camouflage" used in WW I ships that tried to confuse the spotters in other ships and submarines that tried to find out the size, speed and heading of the ship.

Hey Scampi!
Yeah,me too...Maybe the guy makes stained glass windows for a crust?!

New body arrived,today-A BlueGroove job.
Looks really good, too,I think their quality control's getting tighter, the last few bodies I bought off them have been right on the money.

Anyone got a box art picture of one of these here CAT 2000's?

Here's what I found for box art: Slim pickins. :?
I think the second on (non-ec) is the body that the church-mobile is sporting.

Hi mate,

CAT 2000 replaced the Bosscat as Schumacher's top of the line 4WD racer in time for the '93 worlds at Basildon, Essex, England.
They go for anywhere between £50 - £80 GBP on eBay.

From my post in the Schumacher Time line thread:

1993 CAT 2000 U460M £249 Released October '93. 2nd (Kevin Moore) & 3rd (William Mitcham) '93 Worlds. Euro 1994 winner Austria (Craig Drescher), 1995 Euros winner Finland (Craig Drescher),

Hope that helps!

Ian

Thanks for the great info, especially to Gary and Ian! :D

I wound up with a 2000EC body, the windows are kinda small...I masked one up stock size, and one up a little larger (I'll shorten the front of it,if I go with it)-what do you guys think I should go with?
