Project: ASCOT RCRC Sprint Car

Post by Eau Rouge »

A long while ago, I acquired this sprint car—mostly for the cage. After I got it in my hands, I realized it was 95% of a new original 6-gear RC10 with a new complete cage and aluminum wheels. It was just assembled with a bit of, well... poor taste. I think the whole assembled chassis was painted in Ford ugly-ass blue (it's a real color—look it up), screws and all.

It needs to be disassembled, stripped of bad paint, and rebuilt with the proper parts, wheels, tires and a legitimate body. The plan is to build it as it would have been raced in 1987 or so, electronics and all.

Here's the before photos, before we get rolling:

at the moment it looks like its missing the big broncos helmet.

are there button head screws in the forward wing mounts on the rollcage? the camera makes it appear that its just hollow tubing right there

Yeah, button heads in the wing posts. It does look kinda funny.

The rear shocks are at full length (rears) and the rear suspension can't compress no matter what you put in it. It's pretty funny, actually. The previous owner had it on "display" but it looked like a complete turd with the body he had on it.

If I could only find a Premier/Twister Gambler body, I would have everything I need for this car.
