1993 Reedy Race & Basildon Worlds

Hi all, Having found my way to this great little site and trawling through most of the awesome archive stuff you've got on here, I thought I'd add some stuff I found recently in my loft. I was lucky enough to compete in the Reedy Race (Open Class) prior to the Basildon Worlds in 1993 and later work as a volunteer at the 'big one' later in the year.

I've got very fond memories of these events as I made the A Final and got my trophy from Mr Reedy himself. Such a shame that not long after the facility was vandalised beyond repair and now has leisure & entertainment facility built on it I think!

Anyway, at least we've got these photos to compliment the memories..

I'm in that crowd somewhere, but it's a bit small to make out faces. I live about 8 miles from Basildon and can't remember exactly where the track was, but you're right, there is a big retail park on that site now.. such a shame, but hey, that's Basildon!!
