RC10L fiberglass chassis restoration

I have a fiberglass chassis for an RC10L and it's in pretty good shape. It has a few scratches on the bottom and top but nothing to deep. I've read that you can wet sand it and then clear coat it some how. Is this possible? Has anyone done this successfully? Thanks in advance for your replies.

What I did was to use some left over wind shield glass polishing compound. I had scratched my front windshield with a worn out wiper so I bought a kit from a local auto parts store, the results were pretty good. I used a high speed air drill with the buffing pad in a tub to contain the spatter.

Do you have any before/after pics rooster? Did you have to sand the chassis first?

Sorry, no I don't have that pan-car anymore. No, I didn't sand it first, at first try with a standard drill motor the results were not good. However, when I went to a high RPM air dill, that when it really worked. Even the deep scratches were polished, but you could still feel them when you ran your finger nail across them.

Don't forget eye protection!

I have had some luck with wet sanding and clear paint. It takes some time and skill to do it right but you can get decent results.
