Someone filed a trademark on "Supershot" at least 18 months ago. It's a gaming company that makes arcade-style games like skee-ball. Maybe they heard about the re-release (on the TC? ;) ) and thought they could cash in on Tamiya's market. Masayuki may have played his upper hand and just changed the name.
(All conjecture, of course.)

Ahh, I thought was originally the Super Hotshot and we always just called it the Super Shot.

I better sell off my vintage foxes while they're still worth something, if the hot shot is being re-re'd maybe the fox is soon to follow?

Interesting............ :)

Any more pics of the new chassis?

The hotshot was re-re'd a few years ago. It the super shot variant thats selling now. I doubt the fox will be re're'd because of all the fox only part on it that are not shared by other cars

Original 'shots all had 6 holes... and those lovely triangle wheel mounts. Looks to be the same wheels to me.
