Re: Losi xxx-cr
You'll compete with a B4 all day. It definitely handles different than a B4 though. The only issue I've ever had with them is getting the rear end setup for handling bigger jumps. Dont remember my setup but it's why a lot of people ran BK2 rears on them.

Re: Losi xxx-cr
Cool! There is a bunch of guys that ran these at my track until the 22 came out and one guy is a sponsered driver and his handled awesome so i will get some setup tips from him.
Re: Losi xxx-cr
I picked up a CR too about a month ago. I run mine mainly on an outdoor track made for 8th scales, and that's where the CR really shines. It's a great rough track car. What kind of track are you going to be running on? They work great on indoor clay with a few changes. For indoor change the steering rack to the bellcrank version, the rack has less agressive steering. Also pick up some standard rear arms and hubs and toe block. They also run a different spring, piston and oil setup indoors. There are lots of setups on petitrc, I think the Dustin Evans is the standard indoor setup, Casper's is really good too. The CR is great out of the box, it's just setup to have way more rear grip for bumpy outdoor stuff.

The CR handles better than the 22... its still a great car. It's only downside, is fragile battery ribs down the middle of the chassis... too hard of a "case", and they crack. I always reinforced mine to keep them from breaking.

also need losa4138 pin brace and losa4126 or losa 4149 to keep proper track width
Can't find the hubs now, but you're looking for xxx vla hubs
Hope that helps, Losi can be confusing as there are so many parts variations for the xxx series

Re: Losi xxx-cr
Not sure, that's just what Casper told me to use on rctech forum, I think it helps the rear end square up more for high bite tracks. I haven't tried it yet, I mainly run the car outdoors and I'm happy with it straight out of the box so far.
Try it the way it is, you might like. I find sometimes the team driver's setups are hard to drive for the average guy like me

I disagree. The 22 is my favorite car of all time.Cpt.America wrote:The CR handles better than the 22... its still a great car. It's only downside, is fragile battery ribs down the middle of the chassis... too hard of a "case", and they crack. I always reinforced mine to keep them from breaking.
The CR is still a very good car, though.

I've got an Atomic Carbon mid motor conversion for my CR. It's an awesome car. I like it better in mid motor than in rear motor and it's a good rear motor car. Easily competitive with any current car including the 22.
