What else do you guys do with your time??
When I'm not working on or driving my cars this is what I'm doing. I've messed around for a year or so but got finally got a serious guitar last December for my birthday. Some of you may recognise the replica guitar.
The guitar doesnt go with my look as Im of Indian decent and born in Trinidad. Heavy metal not really Caribbean music you say but you'll be surprised how many people listen to heavy metal across there.
Anybody out there play?

sweet, a the zakk wylde bull's eye. i can't tell from the pic, is that a gibson or the epiphone?
i've been playing for 20+ years. although, i'd say i was only "dedicated" for about 6-7 of them. i've been looking for a new guitar. i haven't gotten a new one in quite some time. just haven't found the right one yet. it'll most likely be a jackson, though. i love the sound and feel of them.

Hi mate
Its the Epiphone model couldnt justify the Gibson one, it was a great surprise for my when my wife brought it out for me to open I thought it was just a normal Les Paul copy but when I opened the case and saw the bullseye. The story my wife told me about when she went to the shop to buy it, the guys were really excited as they had to order one in. I'd really like a BC Rich Mocking bird with a Floyd Rose or maybe a Randy Rhoads Jackson with a Floyd Rose. I like heavy metal not so much trash but good old fashion heavy stuff like Ozzy etc.
Go for it mate buy yourself a nice Jackson then you can put some riffs together and use them as music for any videos you do with RC.

ya, those gibson custom shop guitars are quite expensive. i think the most i ever paid for a guitar was around $700 or so for my ibanez rg570. that was high enough for me. i've never been any more than a recreational player, so to spend a ton of money on them makes no sense to me. i've played with a couple garage/bar bands, but that's as far as my budding music career got.

I like to hang out with my girlfriend, listen to music and ride my little kids bike!

Cool guitars guys, I could never get the coordination to play
As for motorbikes, I'd love to ride one but fear for my life

Re: What else do you guys do with your time??
I have been playing guitar for 23 years give or take. My current baby is a '92 standard Strat I bought in 95' I think. My playing sucks. I pretty much just own a guitar now
I kick myself for selling the '73 mustang in competition orange with the red stripes and the late 60's deluxe reverb. I am not going to say what I sold them for. I was young and stupid but did make a (small) profit. They are worth a pretty penny today.
I am more into archery and fishing than playing guitar. I bought a buddies Pearl drum kit the other day and am fixing it up for my 3 year old. Maybe I'll pick up strumming again to help with his interests. My goal was to be a musician but I was held down by the man (my father
). I am letting my boy do what ever his heart desires.

In my spare time eh hem work I am a cartographer/graphic designer. I like to work on classic cars and hang out with the girlfriend. I am currently working on a 67 mustang she drove in high school about ten years ago and now needs some work. Living in Cali I like to BBQ and take my T4 to the beach.

"No more tears" is in my top 5 for best guitar solo EVER.Triniboy wrote:....Some of you may recognise the replica guitar.
Are you into soloist like Via, Satch, Malmsteen, E. Johnson? Malmsteen is my favorite. I think that is why I worship a Strat.
Now if I could just get the file between the strings and the fret board.

Re: What else do you guys do with your time??
These days mostly we have been trying to adjust to a new life in the "South," but I personally enjoy running and the wife and I (temperature permitting) like to get out and do some hiking as we are the beginning/end of the Apalachin Mountains. Basically anything outdoors as along as we both are with our dogs. If the question were what would we rather be doing or where would you rather be, it would be on the beach with our two dogs. We TRULY enjoyed the beaches of like Michigan in the summer and are desparate to find something similar.... but it is 5 hour drive due south to the Gulf of Mexico.
The closest we can get to the beach today is the lake at our apartment complex.

Re: What else do you guys do with your time??
Time is at a premium for me lately, and I can't seem to focus on one thing at a time anyway, but when I'm left to my own devices, I'm usually on this:

To detune the brain lately Kim and I have been GeoCaching, and when I get the opportunity, I still enjoy heading to the race track with my dad and my brother who are still actively doing this:

As soon as the house sells, I'll be spending intimate time with my Cherokee, a Rubicon Express lift kit and a set of 31" tires.
But right now, I'm trying to play cheap.
