AMB RC4 transponders
Anyone having any issues with these on RC2/RC3 systems? I'm thinking of ordering one as I prefer to have a new one as opposed to the older AMBrc.

Re: AMB RC4 transponders
I've been running MRT-PTX transponders for the past two seasons and have had no issues with them. Terry from MRT is great to deal with, and with the transponders being cloned it makes it nice not having to keep track of all the different numbers. I have five transponders with the same transponder number! The leads are replaceable if they get damaged, and you can order them with longer/shorter leads to fit what you're putting it in.
Oh, and they are about 35% less than AMB!

Re: AMB RC4 transponders
yes, they are compatible on any AMB system that will accept either the AMBRC transponder or the mylaps transponder.
As far as how the cloning works, If you have an AMBrc personal transponder you can send it to MRT, they then read the unique signal and are able to replicate it into one of their PTX transponders. after they have the code on file you can order them as you need them. They will either return your AMBrc transponder or they will keep it and exchange it for a PTX at no additional charge. This is a great option for people with AMBrc transponders that have damaged wires as you cannot change the leads on the AMBrc transponders. There are also a few more options on the MRT PTX's that I forgot to mention, custom led colors, tab mounted case or no tabs, or is you're super weight conscious you can get them with no case which is a nice option for weight and space saving as it's a little less than the footprint of a dime (this is what I have in my 1/12 scale car). I don't believe the mylaps transponders are able to be cloned. you can also just buy a regular transponder from them instead of sending one in to be cloned.

I don't have an AMB, sold it when we retired from racing.

I sold a few more than I should have as well- haven't tried the mylaps, but I'm going to have to soon.

Re: AMB RC4 transponders
From what I make of it on the website, they are the newest version of AMB transponders.

The RC4 is a great transponder, small light and it can run on a much lower voltage. I run one in my 2wd, although i run an MRT in my 4wd and have had no issues with either.
