Tekin ERM-80 Reverse Module

I just wanted to show off my NIB Tekin reverse module and maybe get some more information about it. Believe it or not, I only paid $18.50 for this off eBay last year. I'm not sure if I'll use it in a future project or just leave it in the bag. Has anybody ever used these before? Where they practical? I can't imagine they were used in race cars of the time. Was it just a way to bash with your forward only esc equipped race cars? How much did they cost new? Where they comparable in price to a forward/reverse esc of the time? I sold those once and tested it also why back and they works grate.
