So I have thought of getting one of these for a while but the ones in the hobby store I think were over $100. I saw this one on hobbypartz's site and its a great deal, too good to be true? Is it junk?
I bought a Futaba FASST 7c transmitter for a Kyosho blizzard project as the extra channels will come in handy, but it also would be great to get a heli someday and this Futaba radio is suited for that....
I don't know anything about that one, but I am still using Realflight 4.5. It's a little outdated now, but still a very good sim. I would think you could pick one up pretty cheap. Then you can download tons of planes, heli's, and flying sites for free from the knife edge forum. You can also use your transmitter with it. IIRC it includes the proper trainer chord for your radio, if not it can be purchased separately.

Ah that would be great. I read in the instruction manual about the trainer cord for mine so if I can use that and still be able to use my actual radio with the simulator, I would be thrilled.
Yeah, that's the idea you use your actual transmitter to fly the sim. Although that point may be moot, because the Interlink Elite controller that comes with RF4.5 is actually a Futaba controller that is virtually identical to the 7c.
Admittedly I’ve never been a racer, more what eventually became coined a “basher”. Always have been and always will be. There sure are a lot of different ways to have fun with an RC vehicle and to me one of the best is catching some killer air !! I...

Thinking about buying a simulator to get my rc helicopter practice hours in before I buy the real thing. anyone have suggestions on good software? I am going to pickup a cheap setup first so I don't cry when I bash one into the ground.

I would think a plane would be the best choice first off. I flew some small heli's first. Once you get the hang of one, it sticks with you.
A Blade MCX2, indoors mostly and a lot of fun. I slowly went to some larger models. I still get sweaty palms...
That's awesome, just wanted to add that if anyone is looking for other specs on the Astro Flight brushed motors (Plane / Dragster) you can contact them directly also. The lady who answers the phone is very nice and helpful.
Got a brandnew, never used Astro Flight timer charger model 4005A some time ago. I have not found any pictures or informations for an Astro charger of this type, the oldest I found was a model 4005B what seems being introduced in 1982. But this one...

it's a very popular style quick charger, there were quite a few companies that made essentially the same thing. Not sure if they all came from the same place or if each company made their own. Astro-flight was always a good company.
I want to water proof my ESC, i heard that you can just coat the bored down with RTV or permetex but dont know if this is true or not. Any ideas?

Plasti dip is definatly a great way for waterproofing electronics, just make sure none gets on the heatsink when you are doing speed controls. Also be sure to put dielectric grease on all the connectors and pins otherwise they will corrode up pretty...
