I haven´t seen that topdeck before, is SWB ?
- thanks for sharing
Thanks Dennis, I'm unsure but i know it is the same as on the original car, it came with a lot of parts I bought from the USA. See pic of original below:
As per the top deck, the car masami drove was infact Cecil Schumachers LWB (SWB) car. Essentialy Cecil was not good with the SWB cat so the guys built him a longer wheel base car and this (so i told) is how the XL came to be with us.
Masami had troubles with his car at this event and Cecil offered him his XL to use (as I have been told).
So basicaly the XL began it's life as a longer SWB car. At the this stage the XLS (wider track car) had no been in production so the car masami drove was infact the XL.
The top deck on this build is correct for this model.

Thanks Jason
It's by pure luck that I had the correct top deck really. New in packet too.
I just noticed the black shock spring spacer clips are different in the pic of the original car - will sort that when I get home from work
This one won't run, it's just a display model.
Next on the list is a replica of BK's 1993 worlds winning RC10

Yes I just messaged him on facebook but also have his email address as we've beein in contact in the past regarding a big race I was organising and he was tempted to attend but didn't in the end.
Now that the kind people at Schumacher have sent me some close ups of the actual car I'm going to re-do some of the decals to make mine more accurate.
I'm proud to say that not only will my tribute be featured in an article in the July issue of RC Car Racer magazine (on sale June 6th in UK and online digital) but it'll also be the main cover picture
Well i finally finished my WCS and i decided instead off doing a replica i would do a tribute to the legend him self, as you may have already noticed the stickers are not all in the right place but being a tribute i like it like this, this may sound...

GJW sold many of his cars the past year so I wouldn't be surprised this one comes from his stash, especially because Andrew is also an Aussie and indeed these blue battery straps are some serious hints to the same car.
Hey all, here are some progress pics of a Masami tribute build. It started as a gold pan, now with an Andys truck chassis, was on Ebay for sale as a roller for a little bit, didnt sell so I'll just keep tinkering :)
Heres a vintage fiberglass chassis 12L with a Protoform runner body I just finished. My tributes are not meant to be replicas, more like an honoring of the design styles of Takatani. Airbrushed, rattle canned, vinyl stickered, bam! Running a Reedy...

Thanks. I wish my airbrush could read these posts, apparently it hates me ;) I keep thinking I've figured it out, then something gets clogged or I drop it by mistake, something is always wrong and I have to re-learn all the tricks to bypass the...
I assumed Masami's CAT would be the holiest of holies within Schumacher. On the contrary, the current crew seems to know very little about it. I guess that is racing: if it isn't winning races now, it is just an old car.
The video is still good to...

If the Eclipse isn't vintage enough to garner your interest, you may still want to watch that video. It has a brief examination of the vintage Schumacher 1/12 scale racer with the folded Lexan chassis. :D

Gary I sold 2 Topcat's to Chad (Chiprandal) and i would say that he has swapped a few items around and you've ended up with a car made from the 2. I can't imagine why but thats what it looks like. Im still good mates with Cahd,I should ask what...

I was trying to look up what servo was used on Masami’s original winning CAT XL but can’t seem to find any info. I‘m assuming it was a KO Propo. I know what he used for the other electronics, but not the servo. Would anyone happen to know what model...
