Finished my Masami CAT tribute
Spent ages sorting our these decals as couldn't get them anywhere so thanks to J1mbo and Terry for helping me get them produced.
It isn't perfect (my lack of painting skill) but I think it looks quite good
Enjoy the pics guys. Some were taken before I'd even applied the decals to both sides as I was too impatient!
I have a 3 sheets left if anyone wants one, I also have the original Schumacher decals in various colours just email me [email protected]

Thanks Dennis, I'm unsure but i know it is the same as on the original car, it came with a lot of parts I bought from the USA. See pic of original below:DennisM wrote:It looks amazing.

Re: Finished my Masami CAT tribute
Really great effort on this one Dan.
As per the top deck, the car masami drove was infact Cecil Schumachers LWB (SWB) car. Essentialy Cecil was not good with the SWB cat so the guys built him a longer wheel base car and this (so i told) is how the XL came to be with us.
Masami had troubles with his car at this event and Cecil offered him his XL to use (as I have been told).
So basicaly the XL began it's life as a longer SWB car. At the this stage the XLS (wider track car) had no been in production so the car masami drove was infact the XL.
The top deck on this build is correct for this model.

It's by pure luck that I had the correct top deck really. New in packet too.
I just noticed the black shock spring spacer clips are different in the pic of the original car - will sort that when I get home from work
This one won't run, it's just a display model.
Next on the list is a replica of BK's 1993 worlds winning RC10

Re: Finished my Masami CAT tribute
Thanks guys
Yes I just messaged him on facebook but also have his email address as we've beein in contact in the past regarding a big race I was organising and he was tempted to attend but didn't in the end.
Now that the kind people at Schumacher have sent me some close ups of the actual car I'm going to re-do some of the decals to make mine more accurate.

Re: Finished my Masami CAT tribute
I'm proud to say that not only will my tribute be featured in an article in the July issue of RC Car Racer magazine (on sale June 6th in UK and online digital) but it'll also be the main cover picture
