$20 ebay beater
i'm trying to find the right word to describe this car. oh, i know. HAMMERED!!!!!!!!!!! it's amazing to me to see what some people will do to an rc car. i have seen worse, though. i still haven't understood the need people have to "paint" plastic suspension parts.
well, here it is in all it's glory. broken graphite chassis and all. it does have a nice tekin speed control i've been looking for. just needs some new wires. don't know if it works, yet. the shocks are nice enough to strip and maybe polish. the trans feels smooth. it has full bearings, and they all seem descent. nothing a good lacquer thinner soaking won't take care of.
take a look at the solder job on the battery.
for your viewing amusement, i am proud to give you..................

well, better than where it came from. i don't see this one going back together. not with this chassis, anyway. it's broke right through the bellcrank screw holes, from one side to the other. the only thing i could possibly do with would be to cut the front off, and try to put a stock nose plate on it. that's really the only option to be able to use it again.badhoopty wrote:fugly... at least now its in a good home, right?

Chassis repair
I think for $20 you've got a great car there. I am still searching for one of these elusive RC10 bargains, I think with a strip and a clean it should look great.
For the chassis I agree with ^^^^^bscotti^^^^^ perhaps a shot of adhesive in the opened crack would help. After the adhesive is in there clamp the part up and wait for it to set. Then surely you can use sand paper to smooth out the worst of the scratches and then re-clear coat/laquer and it should be ready to run.
I forgot to add, good luck.

i had that idea too, last night. we have the 3M automix products at my work. i'm gonna V the crack out on both sides, and flow something in the crack. i'm gonna call the 3M rep. tomorrow to see which stuff he feels would be the best for the job. i'll still need to brace the front end, though. i think. there's a lot of stress right there. especially in the well trained hands of my 11 year old.

would like to buy $20 beater
Hi guys,
I keep reading about the bargain RC10 beaters that are available and have seen a number of really good ones on this site like this one. I am after a beater to complete my RC10 kit. I have an A&L trailing arm chassis and arms, MIP tranny, MIP pre-stealth kit, Hot Trick front arms, a choice of rear suspension mounts, Wheels, Hubs, and a few odds and sods.
Has anyone got the majority of an RC10 to sell me? Or can someone spot one on ebay and let me know please?
I don't consider myself an ebay virgin but am struggling to find the right donor car. Please help.

i've been messin' around with this one the last couple nights. i clean all the paint off the suspension parts, and glass beaded the shocks. i used an old tub that i had previously stripped and painted. i need to pick up a motor plate and some nose brace tubes, install a radio system, then this one will be ready to run.
