Picked this up from a friend at the track the other night. It was raced once back in about 95 and has sat ever since. Pretty much stock except the rare polished/milled motor plate. Just need to get some better turnbuckles and a few odds n ends and it will be my vintage racer!
And it appears that those wheels could be Pro-Line......or are they just standard white XXX wheels? If they're Pro-Line, you could always dye them black or maybe purple....
....purple would be cool!

I call it piano wire. Can find it at the LHS usually in a bin where they sell the different sizes of brass, aluminum and steel rods, sheets and what not. Not sure on the diameter but you could take it with you. That is what I would do anyway.
If you are going to run that i would try and find a white front bulkhead. The black ones tend to be very brittle and often self destruct the first time you hit something.
Also the black ones are really quite rare these days so might be worth saving for the shelf.

I didn't realise the white ones were made of a more durable plastic? The black one that was on my 'runner' originally lasted through all of last years season right up until I snagged the car on an old railway sleeper that was being used to mark out a make-shift track at a demonstration meeting last September. Its now been replaced with a white one so hopefully all is good!
Tim.W your Losi looks to be in great shape - i'm sure you'll have lots of fun & success racing it... to be honest it is almost unfair to run it in a vintage class as they are THAT good, I ran mine in the regular 2wd 'Modified' class with a 6.5 brushless motor & had some good results against modern cars

They may be made of the same plastic and its just the age of the earlier black bulkheads that makes them brittle? Im not sure. I have broken 3 black bulkheads over the last few years but am yet to break a white one. Maybe my driving just got better!
I believe the white versions are a Nylon material.
If they had added some fibers to the ABS in the black bulkheads they probably would have been better. The front arms have an additive in the ABS , but for some reason they didn't with the front bulkhead. I personally believe the arms should have been the weaker plastic and the bulkhead the more expensive stronger plastic. Much easier to swap an arm than the whole bulkhead.

One of my friends busted out his old XX-CR at a club race for the stock class and said he liked it better then his 22!
This car even has a set of rare "team only" bell cranks made out of a different compound of plastic! The guy I got it from had a few friends that were Team Losi factory guys!
I love to restore more than building new out the box. Its just something about bringing old forgotten RC'S back to life so when I came across someone who had this old blackfoot body and Sees Aluminum wheels with a vintage Sassy Chassis thats been...

That came out spectacular ! Well worth your effort.
Hi all, a few months ago when I joined, I showed a pic of my lightly used RC10T Team truck I bought back in '96. Being I bought a brand T truck to play with, and inspired by some other projects, I decided to blow apart my truck and start a build....

That is something you need to talk to your powder coater about. My chassis had very minor scuffs and scrapes, not sure what they did, but you can't tell any of them were even there. Its something I wasn't concerned about personally--but i am glad...
so, while ive been home recouping some bone realignment (the unfun kind) ive gotten acquainted with this beyond awesome forum and all the sick, trick, colorful, real use and all things that a rc10 can be....really has helped me fight the cabin...

So managed to pick up a XX or two. First up we have a XX-CR, complete and in decent condition. Second is XX-CR Kinwald and not too shabby. Also have a complete rear end with bulkhead, arms, tranny, motor plate, shock tower, basically everything all...

Badd Boyz anodizing, quite a nice little time capsule you've got there.
Speaking of which I always wondered what happened to Badd Boys as it must have been a offshoot of a larger company.
my new sprinter project. a little dirty but should clean up nice.

i got this far after a little cleaning, some new treads and a used body and wing i had lying around.more to come later. polish all the aluminum, a new body and wing and maybe a carbon fiber chassis.
Started out on an idea to simply get an old rc10 with 6 gear tranny running again (with a hotshot chassis). Turned into this. Working on a gold pan klein build utilizing b44 cvd's and gt carriers in the back. Still a work in progress. Awaiting...
