I bought this new in 1990 I think. It's an Rc10 team car in kit #6035. I have never raced, just enjoyed whoppin all the Tyco's. I would like to clean it up for my son and I, where should I start and where is the cheapest source for parts? Do Hobby Shops still carry wheels, tires, bodies and such that fit this style?
Neat car! I ALWAYS LOVED THE TEAM CARS. Parts are pretty hard to come by since most of them are discontinued. If you're patient you could find what ever you need, simply watch the online bid sites and watch the BST section here. Associated still makes a few odds and ends, but keep in mind it is a 20 year old car. I think you have two options, sell it to a collector for them to restore and buy your son a new RC with that money, or be patient and find all your parts you would need to rebuild it. What ever you choose have fun! Oh yeah 3rd option, you restore it and keep it and buy your son his own new RC!
Do you notice any handling differences between the RC10 graphite team car and the RC10 team car with tub chassis (both fitted with white nylon parts throughout)?
I haven't driven either yet. Been a while...greetings all :)

I would say the tub chassis has more flex and probably a lot bigger sweet spot for setup
Here is one of my newest additions to my RC10 collection.
Got it from a buy now auction right off the bay. I think it is a nice modified car and I got the information that it was driven by a former Italien Team Associated driver.
I will only clean...

What was the reasoning back in the day for trimming down the chassis. Weight only?
weight was a factor but also being able to get the body down as low as possible helped airflow. You needed all the advantages you could get before the battery...
I had the chance to buy an RC10 Team Car that had been raced for most of it's life around 5 or so years ago.
I really liked Viper bodies and wanted to do a paint job along the lines of my Gold Pan, but it turned out AWFUL.
I tried to remedy the...

Honestly, I don't see any awful mistakes. All of your cars look awesome to me. 8)
So, I'm a little confused (that's common for me  ) which one needed to be wet-sanded :?:
One of my best friends has the number plate 'XLR8'!
It's been on...
A all new RC10 Team Car with full RPM option parts, I just need to switch my Black RPM steering for a White !
If somebody are able to help me for this last step PM me

I'm sorry, but I just use my Cannon 400D to do this picture, and that's all !
From what I know does the software of DSLR cameras like the Canon 400D put a lot of color and contrast into the pictures making them more crisp and shiny without further...
Just pulled my RC10TC out of storage after 20+ years. Put a 17.5T brushless motor w/ 3S lipo and a new body on it and it's now my favourite car to play with.
I want to introduce you my latest acquisition: an RC10 Team Car
I ordered a RC10 Re-release but I know exactly that car won't be the same as the good old rc10 tubs. So I decided to look for an old rc10 and one day after this decision I...
I am always looking for a project to do. With the holiday upon us and taking some time off from work as a result, I have prepped my schedule to tinker on another project and to keep myself busy. Thanks to CLM for the foundation of this project as I...

Yeah I'm the same way. I raced like crazy when I was kid. Now 3D flying takes up most of my rec time. Mostly I enjoy keeping them nice, and running them from time to time.
I ran the A body last night with classic tires and rims. It was a blast! I...
