CE motor question

Post by marlo »

Hello, I'm trying to find out, if an early stealth CE, could have, or did come with a blue labeled motor, or was it always a green reedy. I've seen on its history in this Forum, towards the end of its production run, they did put out whatever they had, could that have also applied to the fist runs? I recently acquired 2 nip green Reedy motor for my CE's, but am now working on a 3rd, Its going to be an early stealth, and all I have in my stock is a blue motor. Doubtful I'll find another green ( nip ). My aim is to be as correct as possible. Also would the trans brace be the first gen style ( with no ears ), or the standard one. Thanks.

Not my early car- all green label as far as I've seen from new. The only odd "thing" that we've seen a couple of times are TR-8 hot laps tires in 3 kits (here)

Well it then would be safe to assume that the early stealth, I'm working on would call for a green. But I now am left thinking that I may need another green for my early 6 gear ce. It has an A stamp, 4 hole front shock tower, bottom loaded shocks, TQ-71 tires, etc, its posted here somewhere. That car then needs a green motor, not a blue? Did the blue motors end with the caddy cars?

Yes on the motor question.

Put a nice period correct stock in it (trinity or something) or a nice Reedy mod 8)

Nice!, I have 4 CE's. one 6 gear, and three stealth's ( all white ) but sadly only two green motors. However I'm glad I brought this question up, because until now I thought my early CE 6 gear should have had a blue motor, and had stopped searching for green reedy motors. I had a hard time finding the first two, but....... At least I have two mint nip motors, Last year I had none 8)
