10T opinion wanted.
10T opinion wanted.
For my 10t I have been debating putting in a GTB and 10.5 brushless motor in it, that I already own. I also have an additional Trak Power 4900 lipo battery that I would be using as well. There is a little problem with the lipo fitting properly. I would have to move the battery cup forward about 1/4 inch and drill two small holes in the frame to remount it.
What do you guys think? Good or Bad idea. I am on the fence about it and have been for about a week, and thought I would see what others who have these old RC10's thought. I am just not sure about drilling the frame. If not, any suggestions are appericated.
Last thing, I know there was a short time the the 10t came with the RC10 buggy tires on the front, before or at the same time they came with truck wheels. Cant remember if this was an option or not. I have converted the rear dog bones to CVD's and have the RPM rear hubs and bearings, T4 wheels will properly fit. I can also run B4 wheels in all corners, but havent done so.
Are there any pros or cons as to running the buggy wheels on the truck? The wheel base on the 10T is slightly wider than a B4. I was thinking that it would make it hanlde more along the lines of a modern buggy (stability wise) and less like a truck, just to try somethign new. - Any thoughts?

Re: 10T opinion wanted.
By a black battery cup, I have one in my for sale thread but they are available from tower. Cut the cup and mod it to secure the Lipo. Job done. Everything can then be returned to stock if you ever want to sell.

I actually have 2 black ones lying around and I will give that a try, thank you.
Any thought as to the running the buggy tires?

Putting buggy tires on it will make it feel like a buggy (aside from your truck suspension setup). The tires are lighter and less cushy. Steering will become a little less aggressive too just like any other buggy.

I think by "buggy tires" OGRC10T means the narrow truck tires as fitted to the 1st generation trucks. (like in my avatar).

Gotcha, the skinny front tires = less aggressive steering, less tire and weight digging in the dirttempleofspeed wrote:I think by "buggy tires" OGRC10T means the narrow truck tires as fitted to the 1st generation trucks. (like in my avatar).

Sorry for the poor choice of words. Yes I ment the skinner wheels.
Templeofspeed - are those narrower wheels the same size, over all height and width as the B4 front wheels?

No, the B4 wheels are a bit narrower. If you find the correct narrow 10T tires they will fit B4 wheels.OG RC10T wrote: Templeofspeed - are those narrower wheels the same size, over all height and width as the B4 front wheels?
