been gone a while/new start in life

Post by slim_chance »

Life has been hectic for a while for me so I havent been on here as much as I like too. So whats going on with me?
Well as of May 8 2013 I officially retired frome the U.S. Army. I was medically retired for ptsd. Now I am back in s.c. starting my new life. Or should I say what is old is new life. Lol. Now I'm on the job market but happy I dont have to deploy a third time.
It looks like I will be helping out a buddy with a very large project of remodeling an old textile mill to a performance car shop and museum . Pics comming asap.
Well wish me luck with my new life.

First off, Thanks for your service from a fellow veteran; Welcome back and hang in there. I have some friends too that are suffering from this as well and it can be a challenge. Hopefully you have a good VA facility near you for when you need it.

Good luck, Jeff

Thanks guys. I look forward to this new start. I also might be picking up a personal project from the guy I will be helping. A 1987 Chrysler Conquest. Basically a Mitsubishi Starion.

Actually im planning on keeping it a turbo 4 banger. But im looking for a 4g63 or 64 engine for it. I can easily put down 300+ hp with one of those and the car weighs under 3000 lbs. I normally dont go for 4 banger imports but something about this car has really caught my attention. Maybe just memories of cannonball run. Lol

That was Cannonball 2, right? I thought Jackie had a Subaru in the first one. Either way, cool project car.

Thank you for your service & welcome back!

BTW I am not the movie police... just a big fan of the original Cannonball. That and Stripes were very influential (read: boobs) in my pre-teens.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.
