Thanks!
(I still haven't finished it...)
I'd love to see your project!
I never get bored with the Baja stuff, they seem to have infinite possibilities.
Projects and shelfers: Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...

I might be able to arrange that...I'll try to get pics tomorrow.
I think the M chassis might be a bit narrow for this type of body, but anything's possible!

thanks from what i can figure out the front is good and the rear sits in 1/2" per side .. i know i can use diffrent offsets but i want to keep it as is for now

I had to temporarily rob the body from the Monster Beetle (the Ultima's 2 piece was too tricky to get to sit right on the M-chassis)
The front looks good with the different offset wheels, but you'd want to find a fatter rear tire combo for the rear...it's a bit skinny looking w/baja fenders.
Here ya go..:

Has anyone purchased one of the HPI 1/5 Baja's or one of their clones (ie King Motor). Looks like it would be allot of fun, and you could run for a long time on a gallon of 2 cycle gas. Post a photo or two if you've got em and let us know about the...

yeah the F1 kits are 1:18, but im not terribly interested in those. i never owned a baja bug, but since I love the ultima (my first real car) i had to have it :)
Just picked it up, came in a neat case for easy transport 8) very clean and came with all the original boxes and spares, even uncut decals. I can't wait to get started cleaning it up.

Extended chassis with Proline SC body:
arf, I often wonder what became of that project. I like the direction you went, but any hope for it's early intent?
Have not touched my cars in a year. It's a struggle...
Here are some pics of my RC10 Baja Bug project. I first got my RC10 in 1985 with the gold pan design. Over the years it evolved from many parts from Hot Trick Stuff to include a red graphite chassis, red bumper and red support rails, new front/rear...

proline rims pretty rare but sometimes a pair pops up on ebay if you're lucky.
Thanks to CraigB on the site here, I'm the proud new owner of this here goldpan CE. I've been reliving my childhood by rebuilding and racing Kyosho optimas (my first rc), but I had a 6 gear goldpan too that was no slouch 25 years ago. I built a RB5...
