my frog and baja beetle project

Post by germanrc10gt »

this is my frog. re-edition. shocks by bill from clinehobbies.
aluminium rims. color is a dark tamiya green with black roof top (frogs are green aren't they ), just like the real deal, though on the pic it almost looks all black. must be the light. i love the frog, one of the greatest 2 wd buggies ever made imho.
ugly but a classic.

baja beetle project. parma body, shocks by crp (contact clinehobbies if you need them),
crp front and rear bumpers. i think the frog chassis is an perfect chassis for a baja beetle with its kind of rail frame.
light and durable, it's much better for a baja rig than the rc10 tub chassis, but that's just my opinion.

sweet frog!!
the frog was my first real RC car :D
all it needs is a nice vintage new in package CRP chassis stiffener
is that the dogbone drive system that comes with the reissued frog?

hi spiderman,

thanks. it's the original tamiya cvd kit for the frog. just 14 bucks or so i think it is worth it.
do you think that chassis stiffener makes sense? i like the polished metal plate.
i think it can take a beating.

I believe it ties in the front bumper more securely to the chassis but i could be mistaken...........been along time since i owned one.
That bad boy is too sweet to run anyway.

Awww crap!!! Your cars are so nice that now I feel like building a frog. I guess it's time to put it on the project list.

BTW, the CRP chassis stiffener replaces the aluminum stiffiner and the black bumper/suspension mount. They come in that white/cream plastic, but can be dyed easily to match anything.

highwayracer

hold the horses...I think I got my CRP parts mixed up. The chassis stiffiner just replaces the aluminum portion. There's a CRP front bumper that replaces the front suspension mounts. Here's what the chassis stiffiner looks like:

Great looking Frogs. I really like the aluminum wheel covers on the frog bodied frog. If you run these, definitely get the chassis stiffener
