It's interesting, I don't see that. My friends and I are all into cars. I even like working on them. The sophomores (myself included) at my school all seem to look forward to getting their licence. The juniors and seniors talk a lot about their cars and driving. There are even a fair number of r/cers at my school.
Maybe I just don't notice the silent car-hating majority.
