CE into a Score Class 1 Baja Racer - aka Battle Bug USA
Ingredients:
Black C tub with beat up CE nose and motor plates.
RC Carbon Works front tower
Custom Rear tower of my own construction (spaced forward on old bottom-loader shock innards).
B4 V2's with BB Srings on Traxxas retainers
T-bar battery hold down of my own construction
22 (mid motor) wing mounts
Lunsford "Classic" Turnbuckle set with RPM Long Ball Cups cut to length.
B2/B3 "Wide" Proline Fronts.
Capped with a HPI RS4 MT Bug Body (TBG) - Have to blame Vintagemishal and those some European (Oople) guys for that thought in my head. I did figure out I could invert the front fenders for wheel wells . The og cab forward baby! The rear mounts are fashion from cut up little old Losi caster blocks and a 10T kit.
Most everything else is as shown in the pics.
Mock up is done. Weighs in at about 1480g. After a couple more tweaks, it'll be ready to get broken down and sent off to paint and plating. I have a feeling some of the white parts may get pulled and swapped for black, but I gotta figure out a scheme yet. Ideas are welcome. I'm pretty sure I'm going the realistic (potential vintage concours entry) route to mimic today's Class I Score buggies.
I'm pretty sure I can fashion the molded motor that comes with the body to fit back here. Held in place between the motor plate and chassis.

Nice set up! The wheel wells are a great idea too.

I like it....vintage baja paint was usually a single color. Thinking this may look good with a Rough Riders paint job though, or something similar?
