Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 buggy to SCT conversion
Im new to posting in forums. Thought that this project might intrigue some kyosho fans out there considering the only class of rc vehicles they dont make is a 1/10 sct 4x4. My story starts with me buying a proline flowtech body from my lhs. problem was I only had buggies and vintage optima parts. oh and the garage full of tools (wife calls it stuff). So here I am stuck with a body I love and no chassis with a long enough wheelbase. If it were 2 wheel drive I would just extend it with a coustom alloy chassis. I wanted a 4X4 so I started playing around with my extra leftover trashed zx 5 chassis and seeing if some arrangement would allow me to lengthen the wheelbase. Eureka using a gen 1 zx5 driveshaft, a fs front driveshaft, 2 OT-5 outdrive cups, gen 1 zx5 slipper set up, I was able to get the wheelbase to fit the body approximately 12.75 in. using SP front suspension and I found that if I used OT-45 rear hubs the front driveshafts would work and even out the front to rear hex offset. so after many hours fabricating a new chassis and upper deck pieces i was rewarded with a Kyosho 1/10 scale 4x4 sct that I have named the "Minotaur". not real sure how to load pics so I will add an attachment and see what happens.

easiest way to add pix is upload to a place like photobucket.com and then just post the 'img.link'. Photobucket automatically makes it fit most forum picture size requirements. Looking forward to your creation...
