Ok, so was tired of seeing the wide nose sitting looking retarded. So I'm going to work on this car some. Just thrown together for now but I'll blow it apart and whiten the parts on it. I'm thinking of an old Probe modified body or some sort of Nascar Mod body.
The wide arms really make it look retarded...wanted to run Andy's all the way around. Rethink....
So have a bunch of Bolink foams so figured, why not a cheap retro racer?
Just for giggles...set an old beater body on....kind of dig a stocker look. But leaning towards a Modified!
Sweet buggy, nice to throw something together you have laying around. I can recommend the short andy's oval a-arms; I put them on my hot trick front end (same width as that beauty chassis) and it made a big difference. They have about 1/4" less backward sweep. They're rare, of course!
I have that same chassis lying around and the shock towers to go with it. When I was a kid I had to choose between this setup or the standard graphite chassis with Andy's arms. I chose this. I chose wrong! It was goofy but still a fond memory. I've thought about building another one since I've got the parts.
To be fair all of the Raborn chassis were made by Composite Craft but no this wasn't sold as a Raborn product. I got mine about 1987 which was 4 years before Raborn.

It brings the short arms out to the same width as the rear....or it'd be just as wide as a RC10 with a stock nose and team length arms. Geometry isn't as good as a car with narrower front kick-up and longer arms though.
most definitely one of my most favorite aft. chassis made for the rc10.
you can probably figure out which one is all new and which one i brought back from the dead...

i do plan on eventually running the beater version, i just need to get some turnbuckles to tie together the front and rear upper plates since the previous owner hacked it in half. its a flexy freak with the upper deck in 2 pieces.
I know it's not vintage, yet...in another 10 or so years, but thought I would share a successful run up and down a switchback in the rock outcrop behind the local WallyWorld.
I have 2 other videos with unsuccessful descents, but who wants to see a...

I picked up the Losi Mini Rock Crawler Pro (roller) for my son, new build in box for under $70 (at the LHS), got a cheap brushless, tiny little lipo and used a spare full size servo I had laying around. Absolutely love the thing. We can run about...
The NW shortcourse is set for May 15th in Pasco Wash. The event seems to have an issue regarding hybrid trucks ---My sc10t is not allowed to race the event...(I WAS ONLY GOING TO RACE HER IN MOD) that also means any xxxt lxt schumacher traxxus cust...

There was a Trinity Street Spec series in the mid 90s; multiple manufacturers were allowed, but the chassis had to be approved by Trinity, and everybody ran the same tires, motors, and batteries. Only three companies made the pan cars, but it was a...
Much as I love my RC10 buggies and nitro trucks, there are definitely limitations to the 2WD 1/10 scale stuff. They just really need a nicely groomed track, and there are none of those anywhere near me. Closest track is almost 30 miles away, and...

Well, that Dynamite .26 was a bit tired (ran good up top, but doggy off the line and didn't like to idle), so I let it go cheap on eBay and stuck my Picco .21 in for now. Probably going to put a Novarossi .28 5T in it later, but the little Picco...
My latest build. Haven't gotten to run it yet. waiting for the sensor cable for the brushless system.
got it painted up today and took some pics, can't wait to hit the rocks.
It is basically stock except for the dig servo mount, aluminum steering...

Professional comp rigs in the 1:1 use dig all the time?! Go to any WeRock or XRRA (sp?) race and you see it constantly. A lot of the rigs have independent dig per wheel now?!
It is far too common in comps and casual crawling real or r/c.
After building for what seems like...forever...the time has come to get some bodies painted. I will not be the painter...cuz, well, just trust me, it's better that way  ! But after searching the internet for months on paint schemes I'm only a...
