Any reason you 're not using the blue caps on the blue shocks?
You're on a good way though, hope to see a cool body, wheels and rubber on it soon.
JK that black and yellow combo is one of the coolest around here! stil waiting for the drive-report...

i want to do this mod! thanks, kool info.Bugle wrote:You could get a few more mm width on each side by using B4 steering block carriers and drilling the holes out to 1/8". Keep in mind the B4 has 25 degrees kick up so if you get 20 degree B4 blocks you end up with 25 degrees caster.
mr.ed i didnt have any plastic caps and the gold ones were what i had closest to me, but its just for mock up. i will probably use the grey shocks with blue caps in the end (like the ones in the back). =]
also i changed the rear shock set up in the rear, im now using front shocks in the rear again and i modded the gt shock mounts to fit on the arms, and it helped make up the length. the old set up had the shocks at an extreme angle and i could see the stress it was putting on the shock shaft hole..
now, i mounted the shocks behind the shock tower w/ these mounts on the arms and the shocks are almost paralell with the rear tower.. they seem to work much smoother with less stress on the shock shaft hole. hard to explain but ill have pics up soon. im going to use rear shafts in them but with a shock limiter.

thanks for the comments! =]
updated:
rear shocks are now truck front shocks w/ gt shock mount. (shocks mounted behind tower)
titanium dogbones,
white tranny case,
RPM mini front bumper,
modern shocks,
springs,
a spacer on rear turnbuckles,
can anyone name the composite or graphite tranny brace?
i switched back to the white tranny case beacause to me its more visually pleasing. (wont run with it)
as if it was lifted out of the past and plopped into a more modernized car. =]
ps, yes the motorplate does have the stealth hole.

The GT2 mounts are actually not a good idea. They make the shocks feel like they are more stood up, and then they are stood up even more with the truck tower. It might not be so great for racing.......

Great Project Gamma!
I love the fact that your creation is so original - Kudos Dude
I think the rear end looks very B4-esqe with the shocks that upright..

thanks for the comments guys.
mr. ed, you inspired me to get some new pics, only the best pics for rc10talk members. =] hehe
Northy, ive heard that expression before, "more stood up" , i couple times at the track and online when talking about performace... but i dont know what it really means. ill try to do a search to find out for myself, but if you could briefly explain thatd be awesome too. =]
:edit: i think i know what it means now, is it when the shock is more straight up and down (ie stood up) for rough tracks with bumps. and then when its more at an angle (or laid down) its for smoother tracks with less jumps? the reason the gt shock mount would make it more stood up is because as the shock is compressed, it will bring the bottom of the shock inward towards the center of the chassis... making it more stood up as the shock compresses. kind of like a mini cantilever. ?
khp, thanks for the kudos! but i have to give my respects to JK Racing, i took many of the ideas from his build!
peace,
gamma

Nice project Gamma. I liked it with the gold nose peice though. I really like the shock color scheme you got. Too bad those springs are red.
