Gallop 4wds
Gallop 4wds
Anyone know of any other kyosho buggies that have the same or similar rear gearbox as the gallop or progress? Any cars have parts that will work or interchange? Thanks

Only progress and gallop, and gallop mk2. They are distant related to scorpion, but not sure how much.

Re: Gallop 4wds
Not very much relation to the Scorpion, as the 4WDS was designed by Shigeru Hino/Hidenori Tsuno and the Syuwa Kogyo Co., while the Scorpion was designed by Akira Kogawa and the Auto Model Co.

Re: Gallop 4wds
I have a plan as to making a Gallop into a runner, and I'd like to replace the gear diffs with ball diffs.
Happy to get any suggestions as to what might fit (with modifications)!

Re: Gallop 4wds
I would suggest trying a thorp diff for old scorpion,, but its a long shot,, and a very expensive 1. As above, the cars are not much related, but its possible a common gear was used.

Re: Gallop 4wds
Ok so we've found out that an Ultima ball diff can be fitted. One shorter dogbone and correct bearings (or adapters) are needed.
