Thank you very much for the interesting article.I've heard about this prototype but never seen an actual picture of it.Can anyone explain how the engine is mounted lower in the chassis?(is it tilted?).Why is weight distribution claimed to be better in such a configuration? Why didn't they finally use XX-T parts ,prefering the older LXT platform?A higher quality scan or more pictures of this prototype would be greatly appreciated.

you mean this chassis it looks like from that rcca their were 4 made. this one looks to be new/unrun??? maybe this was a backup/extra chassis. i will be turning this into a full roller for display.
got more info on this truck from steven dunn: That truck was copied from a guy named Scott Booker who was a machinist and tried to sell his design. Inside the motor looking thing is a clutch and stuff and was way too many moving parts. Robbed too much power. Me: so this wasnt a true losi prototype??? ya JR changed it up some.
well here it is in roller form. (thanks dhood for the correct os max cz-z engine) now is this all correct hell no and it will never be due to the fact that this had a prototype trans and it was some how shaft driven, but i think it looks cool the way it sits. wish i could find/mount up a gas tank as well, but cant find one that fits the mocked up holes. again this whole truck was all made with all one off parts. the body came with the xxt roller i bought to put this in roller form. thought it was pretty cool cause it had some race history prob just a local track nothing special.
