Losi JRX2 Prototype car
Here are photos that a buddy of mine took of the JRX2 prototype that Gil Losi Jr was racing at an event in Arizona. I'll have to get more information on the specific event to post later. I will assume that it must have occured in 1987.

Re: Losi JRX2 Prototype car
Wow! Those are awsome pics! I see quite a few RC10 parts in there (which of course RPS were making option parts for) Love the Losi sticker on the u/side of the chassis - this being the logo for the skateboard company

Re: Losi JRX2 Prototype car
Really awesome pictures, a lot of small interesting things on that car like SWB/LWB option on chassis already that time. Also the car seems to be a little different than these two Jrx2 proto cars:

Any idea who made the rear tires on the prototype car in the first posting?

MMMMM, alloy 5 link parts?
It almost looks like a production LRM tranny, in a prototype car?

Re: Losi JRX2 Prototype car
5 link - Ya, This is stuff we discussed doing around here all the time for years in the early 80's as there was a plethora of 1-1 racecars that ran a 5 bar rear suspension. We knew it worked. The issue was if the available heims were sturdy enough to handle the abuse. According to Bob who took the photos the proto used 1/8 scale RC car heims of some sort. Issue with the photos is that they have balloons on them to keep the dirt out so you cant really see them. There are plenty of sources and if you dont find what you want in the hobby industry today I would look at what is available for aircraft.JK Racing wrote:MMMMM, alloy 5 link parts?

Re: Losi JRX2 Prototype car
RC4wd (crawler stuff) has some really good looking heim joints
Plans are spinning in my head right now, not a replica of any type, but some "tweaks" to my 5 link runner.
