I found this on the back of the RC10 leaflet distributed with the first 6010 kits, could that be the inside of Jay Hallsey car :?:

It's probably just as easily a prototype or a photoshoot car as it is Jay's. And, if it is Jay's it's probably not the same car that you're trying to recreate. The one in the shot looks like it's a prototype, check out those shock towers. Also, it doesn't look like the shocks have the plastic adusters or the stock bottoms under those balloons or whatever they are. Since you're trying to recreate the car that Jay won the 1985 World Championship with, it seems very unlikely to me that his car would have had those leftover prototype parts. It might have had some parts that weren't in the kit though.

One more thing to keep in mind. Do you have any actual pictures of the #4 car, or are you just going off that AE illustration? Illustrations aren't always 100% accurate.

Oh, and I just remembered one thing. On that RC10 video that AE is still selling for like 2 bucks, Jay is on it and he shows what his car looks like under the body. But, I'm pretty sure it's a later Champ Edition car.

Here's some early Christmas presents for you. Might not be the #4 car, but hopfully you can pull some good ideas from what Jay's Worlds car would have looked like. Better get out the dremel.

I've never heard of anyone dying Kydex. I'd just keep searching for a black bumper. Or just paint this one black until you find a real black one, then dip this one in brake fluid to take the paint off.

Here's another very interesting photo.

A 4wd #4 car. 8)

You only live once, why not add a little excitement. buzz, buzz, chop, chop.

I found your bumper on ebay. Attatched to a car with a couple other cool parts for a decent price,

Thanks for the link, unfortunately the seller only ships to the US, and I live in Europe (Belgium). Anyway, it's not a JG bumper in that auction, I think it's more like a parma or something

Looks like JG to me... they made two kinds. One that attached to the front of the RC10 noseplate, and one that went under the chassis. I had both kids for differrent types of chassis plates.

Yep, ok, but I'm searching for the one that attaches to the front, not the underside, the quest goes on, stay tuned
