Lipo charger question (balance port)

Hey guys can I run the balance cables like this on my charger instead of the bulky balance adapters it comes with, I only run 2s batteries trying to lessen clutter.

I really have two questions:

1> I recently purchased a Lipo charger that does NOT have a balancer? Are balancers really necessary? Was it a mistake to buy a charger without a balancer?

2> Have you heard of the MYSTERY balance Chargers being sold...

In my experience (and I've had at least 15 lipo packs now). Good quality 2S packs rarely go out of balance, cheaper ones can drift and old packs even more so. Anything above 2S I would never charge without balancing.

Someone told me recently to always charge my lipo on the Lipo Balance setting on the charger rather than the Lipo Chrge setting
I use the harness no matter
Opinions or help?

I use a SkyRC Imax B6 Ultimate charger with a converted ATX computer power supply for power. I always balance charge.

I need to buy one and I'm lookin' to keep it cheap (under $50 if possible). These are the batteries I'm going to run...

Would the Thunder AC6 be a good fit, or is there another one out there I'm missing?

Damn...only $85 for that one and you can charge 4 batteries at the same time. Not a bad deal.

My car's an old Losi x2 proformance with a brushed motor though, so if I had 4 charged batteries I'd also have a melted diff, lol.

Hey guys, I had a question about my new lipo battery and charger. So I've been charging 2S Lipos with an Imax B6AC charger for quite a few years without a problem. However, I recently tried charging my new 6S, 22.2v, 5,000 mah lipo battery with it...

that's the issue with most AC/DC chargers - the inner converter design usually has cut corners to cut costs. And when it toasts, you have to replace the whole thing :(

There are plenty of good choices out there. I was using 6S for a couple of years...

Ok when i first got into rc i bought a little lipo only charger it was ok but didnt have a power supply and was a bit too small to charge my 6s 6200 for my 1/8th scale so i replaced it with a protek 610 it WAS a great charger untill it has gotten to...

Just saw this and I have to admit, I'm highly curious about it and for $50, I may just take a flyer on it.

I mean - no setting the battery type? No setting the capacity? Just plug it in and press a button? Seriously? Am I being punked? :lol:

I bought my first LiPo batteries, 1/18th scale Duratrax 1800 maH batteries. They each came with three connectors, a pair of 3.5 mm maie connectors and a 2 mm male connector. I understand the 3.5s, they are for positive an negative leads from the ESC...

If you already have a charger, then you will need to buy the balance plug that suits that charger... (or buy a balance adaptor to suit your charger and balance connector you use..)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the Imax chargers use JST...
