ThrowBackThursday Vintage Race. Today we have the 1990 Florida State Championships 2wd stock A-Main race. This race was held at the G.O.A.R. track in Maitland, Florida. The Greater Orlando Auto Racers (GOAR) organization was a long standing race track that held weekly races for many years. The race director/announcer is David Motten. I was still living in the Caribbean, but this was my 2nd fly-in to race event in Florida. A year or two later I would eventually move to the Orlando, Florida area.

Hahaha! Those legs close to the camera are from Dave Harrison, he was wheelchair bound and a very fast racer.

Oh it was! Even being 30 yrs ago, I still remember the track was like running on ice after only 2 or 3 laps in the main, it really dried out and the loose sand on top made it super slick with the tires and compounds we had back then.
