A while back I went mad buying up whatever Scorpion stuff I could get my hands on. Today Im beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel with the first of a couple of cars Ive been working on. This Scorpion has the locked rear diff and Ive completely ball raced the whole car,put some red Kyosho shocks at each corner and a few other bits and peices. Im still yet to finish painting the driver, tyre letteringwing and fit the electrics too. So far Im happy with this car.
wow sweeeeeet ride man nice work.do you paint them on the inside or the outside?
not to fond on the rims though.some nice alloy's will do it better justice.
Yes I like the yellow rims too Ed. I think they were always one of the outstanding features of the original Assualt nitro version and when i found a set I knew exactly where they would go.
Ive been a very big fan of the 'Time Tunnel' website and will admit to having looked at those pics over and over again. What an incredible site with so many inpiring creations.
I have a set of Sees alloy rims on my Turbo Scorpion which will get a look in the next week or so.The I will need to decide which car will be getting run at the up coming vintage meet in Sydney. LOL
Well spotted. Its a Tamiya Sport Tuned sealed can motor. I think its a 23 turn single wind. They do well for old girls like these. Oh and yeah- MILLER is my favourite beer-
That truly is a nice car Jason. I want to see some action photos, and I want to see them now!
I am partial to the Tomahawk myself. I think it may have something to do with my love for the Super Champ. I have one almost completed, but will not come close to that little gem you put put together! Nice work indeed.
Thanks for the nice comments guys. Dont worry Scott-Im intending on running this car at the vintage meeting we have coming up on the 22nd of June. I'll probably change the tyres though-
The scorpion was my first rc. I picked this one up a while back for a pretty penny, around $150 with a badly melted tub and body. I bought it because it came with a truck load of gears, two graupner diffs and some spares.
Ok so I have been really busy with buying stuff from all over the world and usually its vintage Schuey stuff but recently its been alot of Kyosho also. This is the first of a couple of old Kyosho buggies which are on the way. This is just an early...
One of my 3 Kyosho Scorpions. This I won on ebay a few years ago and had to do a little modernization. I changed out the brush motor for a Tekin 17T and proper esc, FASST Futaba trans and receiver and a SAVOC high volt high speed servo. This car...

Can anyone in the know—preferably someone with one of each—explain the differences to me in the U.S. version Cox Scorpion and the world-released Kyosho Scorpion? Not the Turbos, but the very original. What are the differences in the cars from each...

Hi Eau Rouge :)
The differences are not many: The decals and the box as far as I know. The chassies is the same, at least on the earlier versions. In Europe, the Scorpion was released by Graupner and the latest normal-Scorpion came with the white...
