Kyosho TOMs Build

Had a Kyosho Optima Mid as a kid and upgraded with a Brimod (stick pack) long wheel base chassis, was a great car and i was reasonably successful racing at my local club. I subsequently sold all cars as I moved on to mountain biking. All these years on, I thought it time to get back to it and build the car I could never have afforded as a kid with a paper round and a weekend job in a model shop....
This project has been progressing for a while and i have to thank some key people for input advice and allowing me to buy parts, I'stick up a few pics of the old cars, starter for project car, parts and the build.


The Brimod LWB Optima Mid....

The starter bsae car for the TOMS project, started back in approx 2018....

Over time I researched and tracked down spares for the build working out what I needed to go full TOMs. NIP ball diffs, wheels, tyres, adjuster tie rods etc. all sourced mainly NIP over a long period of time...

After sourcing all the parts, it was decision time, open the packs and build, or leave in packs and build back what I had best I could as a rough runner.
Toms or not to Toms that was the question....
