YZ10 3D Parts

Post by Cplus »

Interested to know if anyone has any trusted designs of 3D printed parts.

I’ve seen a few on shapeways, but hard to know what is good and what is not until it is in your hands.

Interested in some comments on any parts (shapeways or other) people have been happy with.

I have a bit of a bitsa here to rebuild, it has a mix of parts up to pavidis as far as I can tell.

I've had mostly good experiences from Shapeways , the thing to remember is it's very much down to the designer of the part , Shapeways will ensure its printable but do not test weather parts will fit or be fit for purpose as that's the designers job . I ordered both halves of a Marui Samurai gearbox and one half fitted perfectly but the other half had an axle hole misplaced , after contacting the designer he corrected the fault and sent a new part so it worked out alright in the end . I have a Shapeways shop of my own and I home 3d print so I can extensively test parts before I put them in my shop , I don't know if everybody does this and it may well be where the problem lies with the system , I'd guess that most people who sell on Shapeways work just like me but there is no feedback system to tell if people are happy with their purchase .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Yep, that’s my point. Only as good as the design.

Could spend $100++ on parts that look good, only for them to actually be trash due to poor design (resulting in a poor print/strength)
